Applying is as easy as 1, 2, 3
Step 1: Fill out the FAFSA (free application for federal student aid; doesn't the government have a way with words?). FAFSA information and form. Step 2: Submit your SAR (student aid report) to the schools you're applying to. You'll get the SAR from the people who process your FAFSA, and the schools will send you award letters telling you the amount of financial aid you've been awarded. Step 3: With your SAR and award letter(s) in hand, complete the MPN (master promissory note). Click here for a Stafford MPN or here for a Federal PLUS MPN.
